PledgeCamp (PLG) ICO Rating
Crowdfunding has forever changed the way entrepreneur and innovators think about funding. View more...
In less than a decade it has become a multibillion-dollar market and growth continues year after year. Yet there is a dark side to it as well: currently it is unsecure, investors are vulnerable, while there is a lack of accountability from creators. Pledgecamp have come up with a next-generation crowdfunding platform that addresses this major flaw using blockchain technology. The Pledgecamp ICO was held back in March 2019.
The project is backed by the sister of Mark Zuckerberg herself and was founded by three Kickstarter veterans who drew on their successful experiences to challenge the current model. To ensure transparency, they start by verifying the identity of their users through a KYC (Know your customer) process. They address accountability by relying on smart contracts which secure funds - in the form of a native token called Pledge Coin - in an escrow. Backer then can keep an eye on the development of the project they fund and vote to approve the milestones. If it fails, backers get part of their investment back. Pledgecamp is making the smart bet that the success of their service relies on the success of the fundraising campaigns.
